FOOD brand Fodilicious is set to break into the drinks category after it has been selected to join a digital crowdfunding platform.

Aiming to make the world’s first energy drinks for people living with Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Fodilicious was selected by Women’s Enterprise Scotland to help support the female-led business to raise funds.

Lauren Leisk, founder of Fodilicious, said: “Not only will it increase our brand exposure and hopefully allow us to raise funds for our first scalable drinks production, but it will raise awareness of our core business values and why we started: to help people with IBS.”

This follows on from a YouGov poll that the energy firm commissioned which found that only one in six SME retailers have made the investment.

The study also highlights that businesses felt there was a lack of information available, creating a barrier to becoming more eco-friendly. As a result, ScottishPower has now prepared new advice on its website to help bring this much-needed info to retailers.

Mark Bowen, sales and marketing director at ScottishPower, said: “This new research highlights the challenges for SMEs looking to achieve net zero but, with our guide, we hope retail leaders can seize the opportunities that exist from adopting green energy solutions.”
