THE UK Government has delayed it ban on pre-watershed TV and online advertising for foods deemed high in fat, sugar and salt.
HFSS regulations south of the border have been postponed, meaning the implementation of promotion restrictions in England have also been pushed back.
The move was criticised by some public health campaigners, but welcomed by industry bodies including the Food and Drink Federation.
FDF chief scientific officer Kate Halliwell said the decision made sense “at a time when both families and our manufacturers are struggling with high inflation.”
