INNIS & Gunn has teamed up with Edinburgh’s Heriot-Watt University as it plans to build a new brewery.
The Scottish firm will base its new brewery at Heriot-Watt’s Research Park, where it will become a centre for ‘brewing studies and applied learning’.
Students from the university will be able get hands-on experience across all aspects of brewing operations at the new site, which is the first major brewery to be built in Edinburgh for 150 years.
It will be funded through a £15m loan and a £3m ‘Beer Money’ crowdfunding campaign, which has been extended until 31 January to give more potential investors the chance to get involved.
