NOTHING perks up a morning quite like a cup of coffee and as consumers increasingly seek out quality produce for breakfast, the team behind Percol coffee reckons there’s a real opportunity for retailers to cash in with a more premium coffee range.
Niomi Taylor, marketing and product manager for Percol, said that quality continues to improve across the coffee category as consumers, “move towards a better cup”.
“The UK’s thriving cafe culture means that consumers are now accustomed to a wider range of flavours and have higher expectations for their ‘at home’ coffee experience too. Busy consumers are looking for convenient, single serve, mess-free alternatives but aren’t prepared to compromise on taste.”
Taylor said that as a brand offering premium coffee across all sectors of the category, Percol is ideally placed to tap into the breakfast occasion, with a range of products to meet a variety of scenarios.
“Capsules and instant for a quick, no mess breakfast; ground coffee for long and lazy weekends, whole beans for brunch with friends and coffee bags for breakfast al-desko,” she said.
