Nudie Snacks crisps range hits Scotmid shelves

Scottish Favourite winner lands across Scotmid stores

Innovative snacks brand Nudie Snacks has rolled out a trio of its flavours across Scotmid stores following the brand’s win at the Scottish Favourites competition.

SCOTTISH snacks brand Nudie Snacks has hit crisps aisles across Scotmid‘s convenience stores following its win at the retail chain’s Scottish Favourites awards.

The innovative crisps range is spearheded by the Chimichurri flavour which brings a bold mix of citrus, herbs, garlic and chilli tastes to provide a point of difference on the shelves while still appealing to the demand for spicy snacks.

In addition to this variant, Nudie Snacks’ Sour Cream & Chive and Texas BBQ flavours will also sit on Scotmid shelves.

Each pack contains under 100 calories per serving and is free from artificial additives, reflecting the brand’s focus on plant-based, free-from snacks.

Rodney Garnham, managing director at Nudie Snacks, said: “We’re always looking for ways to push flavour boundaries and bring something genuinely different to the shelf. Chimichurri is the kind of flavour profile people associate with great food in cooking and restaurants – fresh, layered and full of character – but it’s not something you often see translated into crisps in a way that really delivers.

“There’s still a perception that if something is plant-based or made with cleaner ingredients, it won’t pack the same punch. We don’t accept that. For us, better-for-you should still mean big flavour. We’re experimenting constantly, and this range is about proving you don’t have to compromise.

“Nudie is a Scottish company, making products in Scotland and championed by a fantastic Scottish team, so launching this range with Scotmid is a significant milestone. The Scottish Favourites platform has given us the opportunity to bring our latest flavour innovation to customers right across the country.”

Run in partnership with Scotland Food & Drink, Scotmid’s Scottish Favourites competition provides a route to retail for emerging Scottish producers across the country and helps them to introduce their range to more customers through the retail chain’s network of stores.

Steve Addison, local sourcing manager at Scotmid, said: “Innovation was at the heart of this year’s Scottish Favourites programme, and Nudie’s approach stood out immediately. The flavour development, combined with a clear focus on cleaner ingredients, captured exactly what we were looking for.

“As an independent Scottish co-operative, we are committed to championing ambitious local producers and helping them scale. Scottish Favourites is about backing bold ideas, and this range reflects that.”
