THE Association of Convenience Stores (ACS) has teamed up with Exchange for Change for upcoming webinars to help answer questions on the UK’s deposit return scheme (DRS).

The free introductory webinar series, hosted by Exchange for Change, is set to help businesses to prepare for the scheme’s introduction in October 2027 with the first dates scheduled throughout February and March.

The ACS has confirmed it will work alongside Exchange for Change over the coming months to support retailers who have any questions or concerns to do with DRS with clear, practical information about what the scheme will mean for their businesses.

In addition to the ACS, members from the Exchange for Change team will take part to help explain the responsibilities facing drinks producers, retailers, wholesalers and hospitality outlets and help attendees to understand what preparations they may need to take ahead of the scheme coming into force.

Russell Davis, chief executive at Exchange for Change, said: “The DRS 101 webinars are a key part of providing businesses with clear, accessible guidance to help them plan ahead. They are designed to support any organisation involved in the production, distribution or sale of drinks by explaining what’s changing, what’s expected of them and how to prepare.

“The webinars will also provide businesses with the opportunity to ask us questions about the DRS and provide feedback that can help inform how the scheme is developed.

“This is just one part of our wider engagement programme. We’re working closely with businesses of all sizes as well as trade associations and a broad range of stakeholders to help us ensure that deliver a scheme that works for everyone.”

The 45 minute webinars will also offer further time for Q&As and will be delivered via Microsoft Teams.

Anyone interested in attending can register their chosen date and time via the Exchange for Change website here. Recordings will also be available for download from the website after all live sessions have concluded.
