Cigarillo brand Sterling has launched a new lemon-flavoured variant with the roll out of Sterling Dual Capsule Xtra Yellow Limited Edition.

NICOTINE products firm JTI has launched what it has called a UK-first with its new lemon-flavoured Sterling cigarillo packs.

The new Sterling Dual Capsule Xtra Yellow offers adult smokers an innovative new flavour experience for existing cigarillo smokers with a lemon capsule in the filter.Consumers need only click this capsule to release a lemon flavour for the smoke.

The limited edition variant has rolled out across wholesale as well as on JTI’s online retailer platform JTI360 and adds a new flavour experience to the Sterling cigarillo range, including the existing peppermint capsule offer.

Backed by research which has shown proven success for the lemon flavour in other nicotine categories, including flavoured vapes where it ranks third most popular for JTI’s customers in terms of volume share, the launch provides retailers with an alternative option to meet the continued demand for new flavours.

The new Sterling Dual Capsule Xtra Yellow joins a successful category which, according to Circana Market Place data, experienced strong growth in value sales terms during 2024 and is now worth £14million per month.

Each new pack of the Sterling Dual Capsule Xtra Yellow offers existing smokers a 10-stick pack size with an RRP of £6.95. Further to this, retailers will have access to an introductory 20% POR in wholesale and via JTI360 from the beginning of July to further entice store owners to stock up on the new offer.

Lisa Anderson, marketing director at JTI UK, said: “JTI is committed to supporting retailers by meeting consumer demand with innovative products like Sterling Dual Capsule Xtra Yellow.

“This lemon-flavoured cigarillo builds on the strength of the Sterling Dual brand to drive growth in the cigarillo category and taps into the popular lemon flavour which has been performing well across a number of comparable categories.”
