WELSH mead brewer Hive Mind has taken a significant step forward in the retail space as it has launched a range of its sparkling mead cans into Marks & Spencer stores.

Known for its authentic brewing process and use of natural ingredients, Hive Mind has rolled out a trio of its Sparkling Mead cans into M&S stores across the UK with its variants Pure Honey, Rhubarb and an Elderflower Sparkling Mead.

All three of the drinks have been made carbon neutrally and have been packaged into 330ml cans with an ABV of 3.4% each.

Hive Mind’s range of drinks have been made using completely natural ingredients including British honey to appeal to more discerning audiences and young adult consumers who are more aware of product ingredients than ever before.

Further to this, the brew offers a lower ABV percentage to appeal to those shoppers who are looking to limit their alcohol intake during the month.

This new move for the firm follows on from its launch of a four-strong soft drinks range called Honeyade, which again boasts its all-natural ingredient list whilst placing its best-in-class British honey back on the map.

Kit Newell, co-founder of Hive Mind, said: “We’re a committed collective of ‘planet positive’ beekeepers and mead makers from South Wales who have blended a deep love for the natural world with a long-standing interest in brewing.

“In a bid to reinvigorate the fortunes of real authentic honey using drinks made from honey as the platform, we are bringing the world’s oldest drink to a new contemporary audience.

“With British honey’s fortunes in the doldrums after a marketplace flooded with cheap, inferior imported honeys padded out with ‘filler sugars’, we were determined to reclaim the high ground for British honey by championing an array of value added, honey themed propositions.

“Naturally, nothing shouts Britishness more than M&S so this is a dream alliance when it comes to advancing mead, and UK honey producers’ goals.”
