Building up energy sales in time for the summer

SOFT drinks giant Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP) has relaunched its SalesSupercharged.co.uk retailer support initiative for the fifth year in a row.
Working alongside Monster Energy Co, the retailer campaign aims to support independent convenience store owners to make the most out of the ever-growing energy drinks sales opportunity, with the chance to win some extra prizes along the way.
The online platform and trade communications campaign will continue to provide information on the latest trends and details on key segments within energy drinks and offer tips and advice around ranging in-store.
And new for this year, the service will also offer advice on how to market energy drinks alongside food options. This comes after a One Pulse survey from July 2024 which found that 74% of energy drink consumers enjoy them with a snack or a meal.
The website now boasts a ‘with food section’ to offer store owners with actionable top tips on merchandising food alongside energy drinks to encourage more link-up sales.
Key retailers across the length and breadth of the UK will also provide insights towards the campaign to support their fellow store owners in driving up sales from the energy drinks segment. This includes Natalie Lightfoot, store owner of Londis Solo Convenience in Baillieston, as well as father and son duo Bay and Ellis Bashir from Middlesborough, who run five stores together, and Jack Matthews from Bradley’s Supermarket in Leicestershire.
The campaign will also give retailers the chance to win the “ultimate Monster branded remote-controlled car”. Live now, retailers can enter the free prize draw by visiting salessupercharged.co.uk before 4 July; the winner will be notified on 18 July.
Helen Kerr, associate director of portfolio development at CCEP GB, said: “More than half of energy drinks are sold through the convenience channel in GB and this only continues to grow, making it a big opportunity for convenience retailers across the country.
“To support this, we continue to invest in our Sales Supercharged support initiative, collaborating with leading convenience retailers to help the wider retailing community to take full advantage of the energy drinks sales opportunity.”
