INDEPENDENT Scottish distiller Eden Mill has revamped its Golf Gin product with its ingredients now sourced from the Old Course in St Andrews.

With a reputation for being one of the most famous gold course in the world, the Old Course offers a range of botanicals across its 95 acres including gorse, heather and lavender.

Rennie Donaldson, chief executive officer at Eden Mill, said: “St Andrews is the beating heart of our brand and the home of golf, so we’ve always wanted to authentically tie our Golf Gin product to the town. Foraging botanicals from the world-famous Old Course has allowed us to do just that.”

The new Golf Gin will make its way to Waitrose stores across the UK from the end of April and will also be available from the distiller’s website as well as in the its retail stores.

Situated just 8 minutes drive from the Old Course, Eden Mill’s new distillery can be seen across the Eden Estuary from the course’s 6th hole.

The distillery has kicked off its gin and whisky production and is now set to open a new visitor centre in August 2025 – offering guests immersive whisky and gin experiences, a retail space and a top-floor cocktail bar.

Donaldson said: “A UK-wide listing at Waitrose is the perfect launch pad for the gin. Golf participation has been increasing consistently since 2020 and is showing no signs of letting off, so we’re delighted to have developed the perfect pour to toast this growing segment.”

John Vine, Waitrose spirits buyer, said: “We have an avid audience of gin enthusiasts who shop with us and take the time to discover new brands with interesting stories.

“Eden Mill’s Golf Gin fits the bill to a tee – crafted with botanicals foraged from the Old Course St Andrews and distilled in their brand-new, sustainable distillery, we are sure this will pique the curiosity of our shoppers.”
