New cereal reacts to rising demand for food group

BREAKFAST cereal brand Kellogg’s has announced the launch of its new High Protein Bites range, offering more choice for the morning meal.
Available in Choco Hazelnut Flavour, the new cereal is high in fibre and contains 21% plant-based protein per serving. In addition to this, the cereal is a also compliant with HFSS rules south of the border.
Parent firm Kellanova reckons the new cereal will be ideal for those shoppers who are looking for a simple solution to build more protein into their day.
The High Protein Bites come in response to a rising demand for more protein options at breakfast time. According to Circana data, 23% of cereal products in Great Britain called out protein benefits across packs in the year to 28 December.
Shoppers can get their hands on the new High Protein Bites from the start of May exclusively from Sainsbury’s stores in 400g packs with an RRP of £3.50. The new cereal will also be made available to shoppers across all major retailers from July.
This new launch follows on from the return of Kellogg’s Football Camps which will offer thousands of children across the UK the chance to win a summer placement with some of their favourite football teams.
Lejla Damon, senior activation brand manager at Kellogg’s, said: “We understand the benefits of a protein-rich breakfast to help kickstart your day and we know this is something our shoppers are looking for, too.
“This is why we are so excited to announce the launch of Kellogg’s High Protein Bites, in a delicious Choco Hazelnut flavour – bringing greater choice to the everyday shopper looking to up their protein intake.”
