Retailers given hands-on experience with new tech

OPERATOR of The National Lottery Allwyn has unveiled its new state-of-the-art lottery terminals at the National Convenience Show (NCS) 2025.
Hundreds of existing and potential new National Lottery retailers were invited to Allwyn’s stand to try out the new Wave terminal over the course of the three day show and check out new in-store PPOS materials from the firm, including an illuminated Scratchcard dispenser and a more accessible Playstation.
Jyoti Rathod, director of Londis at Ayston Road in Leicester, said: “We already have our new Scratchcard dispenser in store and sales have definitely increased since it was installed. So, it was great to visit here today and get a chance to see and try out the new terminals, too.”
For retailers who have yet to get their new terminal, they were able to get hands-on experience with three new Wave models and have their questions answered directly by Allwyn’s retail team. Retailers also had the chance to scratch off squares on a giant Scratchcard for the chance to win prizes.
The new Wave terminals are currently rolling out across 7,000 Compact Lottery Terminal stores and will be installed in the remaining 43,500 retail destinations after this. Further to this, the new in-store PPOS will continue to be installed across retail stores throughout 2025.
Alison Acquaye-Acford, director of commercial partnerships and retail sales at Allwyn, said: “The NCS provided an amazing opportunity to meet so many retailers, and to give them a chance to have a play with our new state-of-the-art lottery terminals – which are currently rolling out to our existing Compact Lottery Terminal stores.
“All of this reflects Allwyn’s wider efforts to transform The National Lottery and demonstrates how retail remains absolutely central to our vision and responsibly grow The National Lottery over the next decade.”
