Biscuit firm FBC offers smart ways to make consumers bite during the festive season
THOSE hard-to-resist festive packs can make for the perfect impulse purchase in stores.
Adding their own touch of theatre, limited pack designs across some well-kent brands are worth their weight in gold during the festive season and encourage shoppers to add a little something extra to the baskets.
And, when it comes to seasonal sweet biscuits, Fox’s Burton’s Companies (FBC) has retailers covered.
With a selection of festive NPD and Christmas-themed pack designs, it will be hard for shoppers to resist picking up a pack for festive gatherings this year.
But, it’s just as important to have a format size to match these gatherings, which is why FBC is urging retailers to stay well-stocked on a raft of different packs to help boost sales this season.
Colin Taylor, trade marketing director at FBC UK, said: “Despite tough market conditions, last Christmas was a roaring success for the biscuits category and was a demonstration of how important the market is to seasonal sales.
“Retailers should maintain a balanced selection of product formats throughout the pre-Christmas period. In December, it’s important to shift focus to gifting packs.
“Given the significance of gifting during Christmas, retailers should stock up on family favourites, such as the long-running Fox’s Classic Assortment 550g, the biggest selling branded seasonal biscuit in Christmas 2023, with a retail sales value of £17.7million.”
FBC is also set to bring a premium addition to the PMP section with its latest format for Fox’s Fabulous Chocolatey Milk Chocolate Shortcake Rounds.
The new price-marked pack for the biscuits aims to meet the demand for more accessibility in premium biscuit options, with a £2.29 price on packs of eight biscuits.
The timing for this new offering comes as FBC said more consumers are using biscuits to treat themselves and lift their mood.
Taylor said: “Value continues to be a key factor for shoppers and PMP formats give them reassurance and confidence that they are not being overcharged.
“As a result, price-marked packs present an ideal opportunity for retailers to take advantage of this and allows them to tap into the premium treat segment – encouraging consumers to trade up.
“Fox’s Chocolatey Rounds are the perfect treat for these delicious moments of enjoyment, particularly as the pack size means it’s ideal for sharing with others.”
