AN exclusive event giving producers insights for retail strategies and key themes driving grocery trading is being delivered by Scotland Food & Drink on 17 September in Edinburgh.

Hosted by The Knowledge Bank and The Academy, along with retail expert IGD, the Maximise Your Retail Strategy workshop will be held at the Royal Highland Centre.

It’s aimed at commercial leaders, category managers and sales professionals and will include views from key retail buyers on the best ways to work with them to optimise business success.

Lesley Ann Gray, strategic lead for Kantar in Scotland, will also give insights on what’s different for Scottish shoppers and how to target them.

Stephanie Pritchard, head of UK supplier development at Scotland Food & Drink, said: “This is a unique opportunity to hear first-hand from IGD and speakers from top multiple retailers on the insights that are driving the grocery market and what it takes for suppliers to stay ahead and plan their future commercial success.”

Attendees will also hear from top suppliers about their own trading journey with multiple retailers and get to network with peers and guest speakers.

Taylors Snacks managing director James Taylor is celebrating the brand being listed in Aldi stores across the UK.

PRODUCTS from Taylors Snacks are now available in all Aldi stores across the UK – marking the firm’s first supermarket listing outside of Scotland.

Aldi is selling four of the most popular flavours of crisps – Straight Cut Mature Cheddar & Onion and Pickled Onion, and Ridge Cut Lightly Sea Salted and Sea Salt & Cider Vinegar – at £1.25 a pack.

The current contract sends nearly 220,000 packets of crisps to Aldi stores around the country, with an expectation of more listings in the future.

Taylors Snacks managing director James Taylor said: “We are confident that Taylors will be as well received around the rest of the UK as our snacks have been in Scotland, and look forward to bringing our unique, thick-cut crisps to even more people around the country.

“We have enjoyed a fruitful relationship with Aldi for over 14 years since our days trading as Mackie’s Crisps, and we couldn’t be more pleased to partner with them in our first foray into supermarkets outside of Scotland.

“We will remain based in Perthshire as our company grows, bringing more jobs to the area.”
