Shaking up confectionery in a whole new sector
GLOBAL confectionery brand Chupa Chups has made a bold new step into the jellies market with the launch of its new belts and laces range.
Aiming to tap into the growing demand for sour and fruity sweets, the firm – best known for its lollipops range – has shaken up its core offering to move into the “extruded jellies” market with four new releases set to come in June.
Packed in convenient 90g bags, the new launches include Chupa Chups Strawberry Laces, Chupa Chups Sour Mixed Belts, Chupa Chups Sour Apple Belts and Chupa Chups Sour Strawberry Belts. RRP for the new sweets comes at £1.25 per pack.
Perfetti Van Melle, the firm behind the Chupa Chups brand, has said the new packs have been designed to stand out on shelves and help to inject more colour across the confectionery section.
Further to this, the confectionery giant said the new sharing sized packs will be ideal for the summer months when social gatherings typically rise with the temperature.
Kim McMahon, brand manager at Chupa Chups, said: “As Chupa Chups continues to evolve and innovate, we’re so excited to be once again diversifying our beloved portfolio with the expansion into the extruded jellies market.
“Shoppers are looking for more excitement from their favourite lollipop brand, and our latest launch is perfectly positioned to satisfy cravings for bold and sour flavours, offer more variety in the category and delight existing fans of iconic Chupa Chups flavours.
“With the overall laces, belts and wands category now valued at £91m and experiencing a remarkable growth rate of 19%, Chupa Chups is poised to capture an even larger share of this expanding market – stock up now!”
