RESPONDING to the rising demand for more sustainability support with consumers means having to highlight it directly to shoppers.

It can be no more obvious to do this than with a complete overhaul on packaging, which is exactly what Hamlyns of Scotland has done with its new paper bags.

And it is the belief of the firm that customers will like the brand’s eco-friendly approach.

Alan Meikle, managing director at Hamlyns, said: “Our customers already prioritise Scottish-grown and packaged products, and our switch to eco-friendly packaging further supports their desire for sustainability.”

And the support doesn’t end there as the oats producer will sponsor the 2024 World Porridge Making Championships, the Corby Highland Gathering and the Scottish Traditional Boat Festival.

As well as all this, the firm is set to collaborate with chefs and support cookery competitions in schools across Scotland, showing the great extent to which Hamlyns is set to give back to local areas.

Meikle said: “At Hamlyns of Scotland, sustainability isn’t just a buzzword.

“We are taking action to make a positive impact on the environment and deliver top-quality products that our customers can trust.

“Our production process is minimal – there’s nothing added and nothing taken away – and now we’re completing our sustainability journey by introducing our eco-friendly paper bags.”
