Vitamin Bar meets demand for healthier chocolate
SWEETS and snacks firm Bobby’s Foods has agreed a deal to exclusively distribute Yummy chocolate vitamin bar to c-stores.
Bobby’s marketing manager, Carmelina Mancini, said that each Yummy Bar contains 1/3 less sugar than leading brands and is packed with 50% of a child’s recommended daily vitamins.
The bars are available in caramel and strawberry flavours.
They contain no artificial flavours or colours and are nut and gluten-free.
They are also suitable for vegetarians.
Bobby’s said the product proved very popular at the Nisa Expo, with many retailers registering interest in stocking it in their stores.
Bobby’s is supporting the launch with a 1500mm x 330mm x 310mm display unit.
Mancini said: “This compact stand displays 12 shelf-ready packs, each holding 24 bars, generating £288 at retail.”
Calling the Yummy Bar a guilt-free snack, Mancini continued: “They are a completely new and breakthrough concept in confectionery, born from two parents’ desire to provide tasty, healthier chocolate alternatives for their children.
“They are the result of a little bit of science and a lot of innovation which has culminated in a healthier chocolate offering.
“We have witnessed an increasing demand from consumers for healthier confectionery alternatives that still deliver on taste, Yummy Bars are that product.”
Mancini concluded that, within the confectionery category, nothing else like the Yummy Bar is currently available on the market.
