Alcohol Focus Scotland urges label action

PUBLICLY funded charity Alcohol Focus Scotland (AFS) has called for an alcohol labelling overhaul.

AFS has called for the UK and Scottish governments to force brands to put additional information on packs.

Suggestions included mandating that ingredients, nutritional information and health risk information are visible on all alcohol labels.

Alison Douglas, chief executive of the Alcohol Health Alliance, and member of Alcohol Focus Scotland, said: “Alcohol producers continue to show a complete disregard for our right to know what is in our drinks and what the risks associated with alcohol consumption are.”
