Some of the latest additions to Nairn’s range

SCOTTISH star of the gluten-free snack category Nairn’s has yet again expanded its offer, unveiling two pieces of NPD which see the brand start 2019 with a bang.

Nairn’s new Pop Oats is a gluten-free oat snack offering consumers an alternative to crisps, with a low calorie count.

Each 20g pack of Nairn’s Pop Oats  contains just 83 calories, as well as 60% less fat per serving than the average packet of crisps, according to the brand.

The new Pop Oats range comprises three flavours, BBQ, and Salt & Vinegar — both suitable for vegans, as well as Sour Cream & Chive — suitable for vegetarians. Each pack is priced at £0.80 RRP.

Nairn’s new Oat Bar range sees the brand target ‘on the go’ shoppers with the launch of three flapjack-style bars containing 40% less sugar than the average fruit or cereal bar.

The Oat Bars have also been launched as a three strong range, comprising: Apple & Cinnamon, Cacao & Orange, and Mixed Seeds & Protein. Each pack is priced at £0.89, or £2.49 RRP for a multipack of four.

Martyn Gray, managing director at Nairn’s, commented on the product launches: “Our exciting new gluten free product launches are fantastic additions to our ever-expanding range.

“Demand for free from products has never been higher, and research shows growth from younger shoppers who are looking for convenient and healthy snacking options to consume ‘on the go’, which don’t compromise on taste.

“As oats and health have always been at the heart of everything Nairn’s do, we don’t have to add extra sugar or fat to make our gluten free products taste great and that’s central to our overall brand philosophy of simple, natural and wholesome.

“Both product ranges have performed well in consumer research and we’re confident that they will bring something new to the gluten free category.”
