Sweet sales for pastry treats

IN-store bakery brand Country Choice says the baked confectionery segment is growing due to the rise in out of home consumption, snacking on the go and sharing bags of mini products.
It identifies gluten free and free from products as another area of growth.
Head of marketing Stephen Clifford said: “The segment is not dependent wholly upon gluten intolerant consumers but rather a broader consumer base of people with general health and diet concerns.”
