SOFT drinks manufacturer CBL Drinks has reformulated its Fruit Squeeze range of flavoured drinks, leaving the sugar out.
The range, which previously contained sugar, now comes in a 330ml sports cap bottle in three flavours: Strawberry, Apple & Blackcurrant and Orange.
The new recipe includes spring water and natural flavours and no sugar.
CBL says the new version contains only three calories per bottle.
The change in recipe follows CBL research which it says showed that 80% of consumers are worried about sugar in their drinks.
In the survey 70% of the 1,000 respondents were said to have reported poor availability and visibility of sugar-free drinks in stores.
Maurice Newton, sales and marketing director at CBL Drinks, said: “Customer concern about sugar is at an all-time high, particularly when it comes to children’s drinks, but it seems consumers are still struggling to find sugar-free options.
“We hope our new recipe will provide some peace of mind for parents who are concerned about the sugar content in their children’s drinks.”
