RETAILER-owned symbol group Nisa reckons the latest collection of store styles in its Store of the Future 2 format are proving fruitful for those retailers who have refitted and gone with the new look and layouts.
More than 70 stores have taken on the concept and some retailers are seeing an increase of over 26% in sales thanks to improvements in both shop layout and range, the firm says.
Nisa format and development manager, Darren May said he’s driving the concept forward, following market trends and using shopper research while also reviewing overall shop fit to ensure cost effectiveness.
“We focus on four main aspects which are quality, breadth of range, customer experience and offering,” he said.
“This is proving to be a winning formula as we are positively progressing with many more stores in the pipeline waiting to be converted.”
The firm says the Store of the Future 2 concept development was based on extensive research of Nisa’s existing store formats and of shopper missions.
That work led the firm to identify what it calls five key format areas – neighbourhood, high street, small store, forecourt and supermarket.
The new format is on track to deliver more than 60 conversions this year.
Darren May said: “Our in-house insight team is the heart of Store of the Future 2 as they give me a real understanding of what shoppers want and how we can implement this.
“From research we are currently looking at commodity adjacencies, reducing the overall signage required in store and reviewing fixtures and fittings to elevate promotions and impulse purchases.”
