HUMAN resources adviser HR4UK has repeated its claim that small retailers may find themselves paying for legal fees insurance that is largely worthless if they simply renew their policies this year.
The firm says insurance companies often write legal fees insurance policies on the basis that they will only cover claims that have more than a 51% prospect of being successfully defended.
But it argues that since rules for bringing claims to employment tribunals changed in 2013 numbers of employee claims, especially those without clear evidence of employer faults, have dropped substantially.
