• ABERLOUR, the malt whisky whose 10-year old stormed to the highest malt whisky position in last month’s Kantar WorldPanel top 25 Scottish drinks brands in Scottish take home list, has released three new single malt whiskies aimed at specialist retailers – Aberlour 12 year old non-chill-filtered (RRP £38.99), Aberlour 15 year old (RRP£49.50) and Aberlour 18 year old (RRP £80.99).
• EDRINGTON is to build a new Speyside distillery and visitor centre for The Macallan, its Speyside malt whisky. The firm says it will spend more than £100m on the Macallan Estate. The distillery is expected to provide additional capacity to meet growing demand from existing and new markets. Subject to planning consent, work on the project will begin in autumn this year and is due to be completed in spring 2017.
