BIRDS EYE aims to highlight pea provenance with a new Facebook app that allows shoppers to trace the origin of its Petits Pois.
The software was launched last month is a bid to celebrate the brand’s 65 years experience of growing peas and show the vegetables’ production process from field to frozen food pack.
Traceable packaging has been introduced across the entire Birds Eye Petit Pois range with each pack containing a unique code that can be entered online into Facebook to reveal exactly where in the UK the peas originated.
Birds Eye senior brand manager Matt Blackmore said: “It’s been great fun creating the app and we hope people enjoy learning more about where their food comes from and the care and commitment that goes into each pod.”
