COCA-COLA Enterprises (CCE) is trying out a new shelf management system designed to boost on-the-go soft drinks sales. Called BevTrac, it’s a spring-loaded device to push product to the front and alert retailers when it’s time to reorder.
Some 3,000 c-stores will try out the system which CCE claims will: improve ease of shopping; signpost brands; increase product standout; make it easier for retailers to face up and restock; and reduce out-of-stocks.
CCE’s Wes McKenna, sales director cold channel, said: “When installed in other markets, BevTrac has demonstrated an 8.5% volume uplift.”
Retailer Dee Sedani, who already has BevTrac in his stores, said: “I installed BevTrac at my own expense and the uplift in sales was about 16.3%. The time saved on front facing was about six or seven hours a week.”
