LUXURY chocolate peanuts and raisins will be the next sweet treat to join the Millar revamped range of bagged confectionery.
Since buying the Millar name and machinery from the administrators of Highland Toffee makers McCowan’s at the end of 2011, Livingston-based Nisha Enterprises has given the brand a thorough overhaul.
The first step was to give the packaging a new look. Earlier this year the company added mint humbugs and chocolate eclairs to the mix. Those joined a premium range of dark chocolate mint creams, milk chocolate caramels and a chocolate assortment which appeared on shelves just before Christmas.
Nisha managing director, Sunny Pahuja, said: “Our new lines complement best sellers pan drops, mint imperials and bon bons perfectly.
“Millar is a truly iconic Scottish brand, and the quality of our products and the diversity of the range means that we have sweets which appeal to the whole family. We are delighted with how the re-introduction of the Millar brand has gone, and we’ve had a fantastic reaction across the best selling and new lines, both from trade and consumers.”
John Kerr, managing director of Millar distributor the JFK Partnership, added: “Millar is a must-stock brand in Scotland, and now that initial demand is being satisfied, it’s timely to introduce some more firm favourites to the range.”
