Irish RTD brand rolls out across UK off-trade sector

IRISH ready-to-drink (RTD) brand West Coast Cooler is set to land across Scotland convenience channel from this month.
Crafted by Irish Distillers in 1984, West Coast Cooler is Ireland’s number one RTD brand, according to Nielsen Scantrack data, and combines a premium wine base with sparkling water and fresh fruit flavours.
Offering a lighter option within the RTD category, the West Coast Cooler range comes in two variants with Original and Sunburst.
The Original variants offers a blend of white wine, sparkling water and citrus fruits along with pineapple and passionfruit. Meanwhile, the Sunburst flavour is a vibrant peach and mango blend designed to deliver a tropical taste for the summer.
Additionally, each can comes with an ABV of 4% along with a low-calorie content with 93 calories for Original and 88 calories for Sunburst.
The West Coast Cooler range will roll out across convenience and wholesale channels from this month and will also see an exclusive grocery listing across Tesco stores for a three-month period. Each can comes with an RRP of £2.25 and will also be supported by in-store displays and influencer marketing to drive up awareness.
The brand marks the latest addition to the Pernod Ricard RTD portfolio, joined on shelf by the firm’s other brand including Malibu, Absolut and Jameson. It also follows on from the launch of Jameson, Ginger and Lime cans which hit shelves in late 2025.
Ian Peart, commercial director at Pernod Ricard UK, said: “The launch of West Coast Cooler here in the UK is a great addition to our growing RTD portfolio and a brand-new proposition for the category, bringing with it loyal and nostalgic fans who will know it from its Irish homeland.
“The no/low, low-calorie space within this category is a strong source of growth and West Coast Cooler allows us to show up whilst staying true to our focus of premiumisation.”
