Scottish ice cream brand Equi’s has announced a major new listing across Tesco stores in Scotland as the firm builds on its target turnover goal.

SCOTTISH ice cream producer Equi’s Ice Cream has secured a major new listing with Tesco supermarket stores.

Four of Equi’s ice cream variants will hit freezers in 67 Tesco stores across Scotland, marking the brand’s largest retail partnership to date.

The deal represents a major step forward for the Equi’s brand and will dramatically increase its reach to Scottish consumers, says the firm, by bringing its premium ice cream range to more consumers across the country.

Equi’s has also said this new move will play a key role in the brand’s strategy to achieve £6million in turnover by 2028, underpinned by a targeted 25% year-on-year growth rate.

The range that has rolled out to Tesco stores consists of four of Equi’s best-selling flavours with Madagascan Vanilla, Raspberry Ripple, Pistachio Swirl and Scottish Tablet.

All of the flavours have been made using high-quality ingredients, according to the firm, with locally sourced whole milk and double cream from Scottish farms.

And to meet this growing demand, Equi’s has said it has now made a substantial investment in its production capabilities at the Rutherglen facility. The firm has combined its increased capacity with a major push into sustainability with the use of solar panels and the introduction of cutting-edge robotic technology.

David Equi, chief executive at Equi’s Ice Cream, said: “This is a landmark moment for our business. Securing a listing with Tesco, our biggest account to date, is a huge achievement and a testament to the strength of our brand and product.

“We’ve built Equi’s over four generations with a focus on quality, craftsmanship, and supporting local suppliers, and we’re incredibly proud to now bring our Italian heritage ice cream to even more customers across Scotland.

“This partnership not only creates immediate scale for us, but also plays a crucial role in helping us achieve our long-term ambition of reaching £6 million turnover by 2028.”
