Jacob’s grows snacking with Cheeselets and Crinklys Big

Jacob’s builds on snacks opportunity through NPD

Snacking firm pladis has unveiled a tranche of NPD for the Jacob’s snacks brand including the new Cheeselets sub-brand and Crinklys Big.

GLOBAL snacking firm pladis has expanded on its Jacob’s range with a range of NPD including a new sub-brand for its Mini Cheddars.

The firm has bolstered the Mini Cheddars brand with the addition of the new Mini Cheddars Cheeselets range. The new sub-brand offers consumers two flavours made using real cheese with Intensely Cheesy Cheeslets as well as Intensely Cheese & Onion.

Each pack offers shoppers a square-shaped cracker with a strong cheese flavour that fans of the Mini Cheddars brand will know and love.

Ciaran Conway, senior brand manager for pladis UK&I, said: “Mini Cheddars remain the go-to snacking favourite for families but we know that teenagers and young adults want to enjoy bolder, louder and crunchier savoury snacks.

“Step in Mini Cheddars Cheeselets, with tangy bold flavours that bring a new flavour adventure to a new generation of snackers.

“Savoury snacking continues to be one of the fastest‑growing categories, driven by younger shoppers seeking bold flavour, texture, and formats suited to sharing and impulse missions. These two launches are designed to help retailers capture this demand and drive incremental growth.”

In addition to the new Cheeselets range, pladis has also expanded on the Jacob’s Crinklys selection through its Crinklys Big offer.

The oven-baked snacks provide consumers with a snacks option made for sharing occasions and come in three flavour options: Cheese & Onion, Salt & Vinegar and Prawn Cocktail.

Solene Conanec, brand manager at pladis UK&I, said: “Crinklys Big is a bigger product than our original Crinklys, which offers consumers a more satisfying eat.

“This format is well suited to lunchtime – the number one crisps and snacks occasion – while also meeting growing demand for products suited to evening sharing.

“Crinklys Big is a bigger, bolder way to enjoy Crinklys. The larger format not only amplifies the signature crunch and flavour consumers already love from Crinklys, but also fits into the growing demand for snacks that can be enjoyed together.

Jacob’s Mini Cheddars Cheeselets come in a 200g sharing bag format with an RRP of £2 per pack as well as a £1.25 price-marked format. Meanwhile, the Jacob’s Crinklys Big range is available in a 150g sharing bag with an RRP of £2 as well as a £1.25 price-marked option.
