Fini expands its confectionery line up with Mini Mochis

CONFECTIONERY brand Fini is set to shake up the aisle with the launch of its Asian-inspired Mini Mochis range.
Aiming to capture the demand for more global flavours in the confectionery market from consumers, the new Mini Mochis come in two flavours with Mini Mochis Fruits and Mini Mochis Berries.
The new sweets are inspired by the traditional Japanese sweet treat mochi, which is a chewy and soft rice cake often filled with sweet pastes including red bean, matcha or ice cream.
Fini reckons the new launch will appeal with consumers who are increasingly showing an interest for Asian-inspired snacks. According to Innova Market Insights research, 78% of UK shoppers now purchase Asian-inspired bagged snacks, underlining the mainstream growth for the category.
The range delivers on taste and texture, says Fini, which are two of the biggest drivers for consumers in the confectionery category, with Sensory Test research highlighting that shoppers responding particularly positively to the chewy mochi texture and bold, fruity flavours.
The new Mini Mochis are designed to help retailers across the UK to tap further into this trend with the unique NPD.
Fini Mini Mochis are available for purchase now across Parferrs, Unitas, Scotmid Co-op and Spar locations with an RRP of £1.25 per pack.
Steven Greaves, managing director UK and Ireland at Fini, said: “Mochi is no longer a niche trend – it’s firmly moving into the mainstream. Our research shows strong purchase intent and standout sensory appeal, which gave us real confidence in launching Mini Mochis Fruits and Mini Mochis Berries into the UK market.
“What’s been especially encouraging is how quickly the range has performed in wholesale so far. There’s clear demand for something different in confectionery, and mochi delivers on flavour, texture and excitement.”
