Cheeky chocolate delicacies land in Scotmid stores
LEADING Scottish convenience retailer Scotmid is set to sprinkle in some extra festive cheer with the addition of two quirky local treats, Puffin Poo and Reindeer Poo.
Despite the unique names, Scotmid reckons the new additions are set to bring a chuckle to the confectionery aisle and drive up some impulse purchases through the new products.
Made fresh in Shetland, Reindeer Poo features a blend of mallow, coconut and Belgian chocolate crafted by family-run business Island Larder.
Meanwhile, Puffin Poo combines white chocolate, coconut and meringue and is inspired by Shetland’s iconic puffin population.
Reindeer Poo is a seasonal sister product to Puffin Poo and will only remain on shelves for a limited time throughout the festive period, making it an ideal stocking filler for anyone with a sweet tooth and a cheeky sense of humour.
Nicola Johnston, founder of Island Larder, said: “We started Island Larder to showcase Shetland produce and share the story of where we call home. To see Puffin Poo and Reindeer Poo lighting up Scotmid shelves across Scotland is a huge milestone for us. It means our message – as well as our treats – can travel even further this festive season.”
