PLANT-BASED foods brand Beyond Meat has unveiled a new packaging design across its range in a bid to deliver a more premium look.

The new design is set to roll out across its full retail range in Europe over the coming months with Beyond Burger, Beyond Meatballs, Beyond Mince and Beyond Burger Smash-Style being the first products to benefit from this redesign.

Beyond Meat said the new look will underscore the brand’s commitment to continuous innovation and to the planet. The trays now use 35% recycled plastic and are designed to be recycled as well. In addition to this, the new packaging uses less materials for labelling and has increased its overall recycled content.

The design itself aims to deliver a more premium look and feel to help improve its impact on shelves, Beyond Meat said, with a vibrant grass green colour to reflect the brand’s dedication to plant-based ingredients.

Bente van Dam-Vernooij, packaging design & development manager EMEA for Beyond Meat, said: “We’re excited to bring improved recyclability, stronger brand presence and greater shelf appeal to consumers and retailers across Europe with our new packaging design.

“The refresh enhances shelf standout whilst reducing material use, to help consumers make the best choice for themselves, the planet and animals, all while delivering a more modern, appetising look that keeps delicious taste at the heart of our brand.”
