Co-op Wholesale has extended its partnership with Roadchef with an agreement to supply into WHSmith stores

Co-op Wholesale entered into a partnership with Roadchef earlier this year and invested £800,000 into its own brand lines.

The deal will see a range of own brand and branded food offered in 31 WHSmith stores at Roadchef sites

Co-op Wholesale and Roadchef have confirmed the next stage of their multi-year partnership to supply WHSmith stores at motorway service areas nationwide.

As part of a previously announced strategic partnership, Co-op Wholesale will supply a selection of ambient, chilled and frozen food and drink, mix of branded and Co-op own brand, to 31 WHSmith stores at Roadchef sites nationwide from early October.

Ian King, director of business development and growth at Co-op Wholesale, said: “This marks an exciting next step in our partnership with Roadchef where we’re on a fantastic start and accelerating momentum. This is a reflection on the strength of our proposition, and flexibility of the model to ensure we’re bringing growth for our partners in a way that suits them and their business.”

Kevin Whitehouse, retail, procurement & supply chain director at Roadchef, said: “At Roadchef, we’re continuously working to enhance the customer experience across our service areas. Extending our partnership with Co-op Wholesale into WHSmith stores is part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring we remain a top choice for motorists seeking convenience, variety, and quality on their journeys.”

The rollout is the latest milestone in a transformative period for Co-op Wholesale as it accelerates growth in the B2B market by working with trusted national partners to bring the best of Co-op to more customers.
