Biscuit brand McVitie’s sneaks into the freezers with ice-cream launch

Classic milk chocolate Digestives and Hobnobs reincarnated in ice cream form

Giant McVitie’s has coldly snatched part of the ice cream market.

SNACKING giant pladis has expanded the McVitie’s brand into the ice cream sector.

Aiming to generate more excitement with consumers and drive more sales from the frozen section of stores, pladis has rolled out the new McVitie’s Digestives Milk Chocolate Ice Cream and McVitie’s Hobnobs Ice Cream 500ml tubs.

Available in Iceland and Food Warehouse stores now, the new tubs come with an RRP of £4 as pladis brings some of its most loved treats to the category to provide the “ultimate sweet treat”.

Alongside these tubs, pladis has also introduced some single-serve options, too. This includes the McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes Triple Dipped Sticks three-pack and McVitie’s Gold Digestives Ice Cream Bar. Both have an RRP of £4.

Benazir Barlet-Batada, marketing director at McVitie’s, said: “From the crunch of Hobnobs to the unmistakable spongey zing of a Jaffa Cake, this range captures the essence of McVitie’s in every bite.”
