All-natural mezcal brand Rosaluna has made its way to the UK offering a taste of the popular Mexican spirit to consumers with a well established heritage.

PRESTIGIOUS mezcal brand Rosaluna has rolled out across the UK for the first time, offering consumers an all-natural agave spirit in the market.

Distributed by Spirit Cartel, Rosaluna comes with an ABV of 40% and has been distilled by a sixth-generation family in the rolling hills of Santiago Matalán in Oaxaca, the heartland of Mexico’s mezcal-making.

Certified as organic and non-GMO and free from added sugar, the brand’s goal is to produce the very best mezcal for the market whilst respecting both the land and traditions of Mexico to ensure a sustainable future.

Rosaluna Mezcal is available in 700ml bottles with an RRP of £39.95 from a range of wholesalers including Amathus, Drinks Club, Dunns, Hammonds, Speciality Drinks and Venus.

To that end, Rosaluna has built a strong relationship for its eco-friendly practices including using agave waste as fertiliser and fibre from the plant to make its labels. Further to this, the bottle utilises 40% recycled glass bottles, while the estate recently achieved an 80% reduction in its water usage.

And the brand has picked up a number of accolades to cement its position. Described as “the less smoky mezcal”, Rosaluna was named the 2024 winner of the ‘World’s Best Margarita’ from the prestigious US-based Beverage Testing Institute.

To taste, Rosaluna has been described as having a more nuanced flavour with a hint of agave smoke that finishes off on a subtle layer of sweet fruit and baking spice – with none of the overpowering smokiness that mezcal is more renowned for.

David Hood, general manager at Spirit Cartel, said: “Rosaluna’s less smoky profile results in a mezcal with excellent mixability and versatility across a wide range of recipes.

“Mezcal is on the rise in the UK, but the market’s getting crowded with ‘samey’ liquids, so we’re confident of success for this subtly different and planet-friendly mezcal.”
