Delivering demand in the RTD space with Breezer

DRIVING up the demand for nostalgia, Bacardi has brought back its popular range of Breezer drinks to the UK.
Marking an official comeback for the brand in the UK market, Bacardi says this returning favourite aims to respond to the strong demand from a new generation of consumers for RTDs with a fruity taste.
This comes as IWSR data found that sales for flavoured alcoholic beverages (FABs) where valued at over £300million in the UK, accounting for nearly half of the growing RTD category.
The original Bacardà Breezer first rolled out in 1990 and, in the UK, it quickly became a nationwide phenomenon. Now, Breezer is set to capture this excitement once again in a big way with its comeback complete with three fruity flavours.
The new range of drinks consists of Zesty Orange, Zingy Lime and Crisp Watermelon and comes in 275ml bottles with an ABV of 3.4%.
The new Breezer is expected to resonate well with two distinct consumer groups – says Bacardi – including Gen Z shoppers who will be a generation of consumers new to the brand and older consumers who are already very familiar with Breezer and have happy memories of the good times they spend with a Bacardà Breezer in hand.
Steve Young, business unit director for Bacardi in the UK & Ireland, said: “We know there is a lot of love for Breezer in the UK, and we are confident a new generation of consumers will fall in love with the new Breezer.
“RTDs are booming, however, the FAB category could do with a bit more excitement. By bringing back Breezer, we’re definitely putting the fruity taste into FAB.
“The early response from our trade partners has been overwhelmingly positive. Everyone is excited to see Breezer back for the summer.”
