Aiming to offer some ideal gifting options for Dads across the country, the firm aims to offer a range of whisky blends that will appeal to more modern drinkers while reflecting the history of the brand.

Each age-statement blend has been presented in unique packaging and designed to seek both style and substance for this Father’s Day – set to fall on Sunday 15 June this year.

The first of these is The Antiquary 15 Year Old. Offering a blend of fine whiskies that have been marred in red wine claret casks from the Bordeaux region, The Antiquary 15 offers notes of mahogany with polished leather and pipe tobacco alongside candied orange, grilled peaches cloves on the nose.

To taste, rhubarb, tamarind, raspberry coulis and vanilla all shine through across the palate and brings a finish of warming fruit jam.

This 15 Year Old expression comes with an RRP of £45.50 per 700ml bottle, with an ABV of 40% making it a more affordable option for a gift this year.

Following on from this, and rising up in the years, is The Antiquary 21 Year Old has been dubbed a “truly special age statement” for this Father’s Day.

Offering a distinctive flavour that comes from the tawny port casks the dram has been aged in, which have been sourced form the Symington Estate in Portugal, this blend brings in a more complex tasting portfolio.

On the nose, the blend brings out a range of strong scents including camphor, hessian, cut hay and burning heather that then develops more into dark mocha, saffron and vanilla.

To taste, consumers can find a balance of spiced plums, wild strawberries, dark chocolate, charred game and orange that then finishes out with a blend of sea salt and red fruits.

This unique dram comes with an RRP of £96.50 per 700ml bottle and is again bottled at 40% ABV, offering a more premium option for gifting.

Finally, The Antiquary has presented the oldest statement out of the trio with the 30 Year Old blend.

A truly special, ultra-premium offer, The Antiquary 30 Year Old has been married for more than three years in sherry casks sourced from Jerez in Spain.

This has contributed to a final expression that offers sweet hints of passionfruit, mango, grilled pineapple and maple syrup on the nose, before it gives away to the more savoury smoked bacon and aged timber smokiness.

This then delivers a bold combination of tropical fruit, syrup and rick oak spice for tasting across the palate, with beeswax, heather honey and a waxy tropical fruitiness on the finish.

This special blend comes in at the high price of £295 per 700ml bottle, making this a truly special gift for Dads this year. The blend comes bottled at 40% ABV like the remainder of the range.

All three drams are available across specialist whisky retailers as well as from the Tomatin webstore.

A spokesperson for Tomatin said: “Following in the footsteps of The Antiquary’s founders, J & W Hardie, who were known for being innovative for their time, The Antiquary focuses on flavours that appeal to modern drinkers while reflecting the history of the brand and its reputation for offering an unusually high malt content.

“Each age-statement blend is presented in luxurious packaging, designed to appeal to dads who are seeking both style and substance this Father’s Day.

“The elegant bottles, inspired by antiques of the Victorian and Edwardian eras, accentuate The Antiquary’s vintage style with a modern edge, guaranteeing a gift which will take pride of place in any drinks cabinet.”
