Embracing Sour and Tropical trends in sweets
BRITISH confectionery firm Swizzels has unveiled its two latest flavours for the popular Squashies range of sweets in time for summer.
Aiming to make the most out of the rising popularity for sour and exotic fruit flavours within the confectionery space, the new Squashies Sour Shooting Stars and Squashies Tropical have joined the popular sweet’s line up.
Squashies Tropical offer consumers an exotic fruit salad of flavours in shapes consisting of parrots, pineapples and watermelons. The flavours found inside the packs inside are made up of mango & passionfruit, pineapple and watermelon.
Meanwhile, the Sour Shooting Stars feature some sour flavour combinations to entice younger shoppers. Coming in the shape of shooting stars, the new packs feature the combinations of pink lemonade, starfruit & peach and cola lime.
Additionally, both packs are HFSS-compliant as Swizzels aims to deliver more healthier, lower sugar products when compared to the rest of its range. This will help to make these variants appeal further to shoppers who don’t want to compromise on taste, but want a more permissible option for the summer.
Both of the hanging bags have an RRP of £1.15, with the Tropical also available in a PMP format.
This also marks the second time that Swizzels has embraced the Tropical flavour into its range this year, following on from the launch of Refreshers Tropical for the brand’s 70th anniversary.
