CANNED cocktails brand Funkin Cocktails has expanded into the Spritz market for the first time with a duo of Funkin Spritz cans.

Available in two crisp flavours with Limoncello Spritz and Raspberry Spritz, the new range offers a consumer favourite cocktail serve in the convenience of can in time for the upcoming summer months.

Funkin reckons these new launches will be particularly popular when the mercury begins to rise in Scotland, with the CGA Mixed Drinks 2024 report finding that over four in five consumers enjoy a Spritz cocktail serve during the summer months.

Further to this, the report also highlighted the strength of Spritz cocktail serves in the on-trade, showing a clear consumer demand for the drink. Funkin reckons these two new cans will be able to recreate this demand for the off-trade and with a more attractive price point for shoppers.

The new Funkin Spritz cans will be available in Tesco stores nationwide in 330ml cans with an RRP of £2.30.

With a lower ABV of 4.5% and a longer serve than the brand’s core line of cocktails, the Funkin Spritz range offers a versatile range and more permissible drinks for consumers who are looking for lower ABV cocktail options.

This new range follows on from Funkin’s latest Nitro cocktail can launch with its new Sour Apple Martini serve.

Ashley Birch-Ruffell, head of brand at Funkin Cocktails, said: “With the warmer months upon us, we wanted to create a drink that’s fresh, fun and can match every event.

“We’ve seen the rise of Spritz over the last few years in the on-trade especially and saw a perfect opportunity to create an easy, refreshing sipping experience with a vibrant new look.

“We’re confident they’ll become a must-have for this spring/summer and beyond.”
