Global snacking firm Pladis has marked 100 years of McVitie’s Chocolate Digestives with a new marketing campaign complete with a prize giveaway.

GLOBAL snacking firm Pladis has marked 100 years since the creation of McVitie’s Chocolate Digestives with a new on-pack prize giveaway.

Marking 100 years of the Scottish chocolatey biscuit, the new ‘100 Years of the Nation’s Greatest Invention’ campaign offers consumers the chance to win £100 every 100 minutes.

Shoppers need only purchase a competition pack and scan the on-pack QR code for the chance to win a piece of the prize. The on-pack promotion is live now until 22 June.

Retailers will be able to get in on this action as well via an exclusive business-to-business competition for McVitie’s Chocolate Digestives price marked packs in wholesale. Retailers will have the chance to win cash every 100 minutes by texting WIN to 66222.

Further to this, there will be eye-catching wholesale and in-store activations to help draw attention to the celebration across retail. The campaign will use humour to place the Chocolate Digestive alongside other landmark innovations including the wheel, mobile phones and sliced bread.

Shoppers will be disrupted during their shopping missions with front-of-store displays, sampling trucks, store media, in-aisle and other touchpoint PoS materials. Further to this, the centenary will also be highlighted across the convenience sector with some unique PoS materials including free-standing display units and shelf-wobblers.
