New options land in store in time for Veganuary
PLANT-BASED meat alternative brand Squeaky Bean has rolled out two new pieces of innovation across the category to help build up options for consumers.
Landing in stores in time for Veganuary, the launches consist of new Ready to Eat Tofu Slices in Red Pepper & Tomato and Spinach & Basil variants with a new Super Grain & Vegetable Burger as well.
Marking a tofu debut for the brand, the new products come in response to a recent consumer demand in the market, says parent firm The Compleat Food Group, as more shoppers claim to seek healthier, cleaner label plant-based foods.
The Tofu Slices are available in Sainsbury’s stores now with an RRP of £2.50 per 80g pack, offering vegan shoppers more versatile options for mealtimes.
Not only this, the slices come ready to eat as well, providing an extra level of convenience for shoppers who are not confident when it comes to cooking tofu.
Also joining the line-up is the Super Grain & Vegetable Burger, also marking an innovation for the brand with its being Squeaky Bean’s first burger product.
Made using a combination of red pepper, carrot and paprika with fermented rye grains to help deliver a more meaty texture, the burgers can be pan fried in just six minutes and can be ideal for a quick weeknight dinner. The burgers are available across Waitrose stores now with an RRP of £3.50.
Yvonne Adam, chief marketing officer at The Compleat Food Group, said: “At Squeaky Bean, we’re passionate about driving innovation in the plant-based category, which is why we put great emphasis on launching market firsts.
“Our first-ever Tofu Slices are set to shake up the market and draw in new shoppers, tapping into the tofu and tempeh sub-category which has grown by 10% this year. The Super Grain & Vegetable Burger is another exciting milestone for us as our first burger and the market’s first to use fermented rye grain.
“Both products deliver on our commitment to exceptional taste, texture and convenience while helping to drive growth within the chilled meat-free category.”
