New Nisa store opens its doors in Lanarkshire town

UK wholesaler Co-op Wholesale has expanded its Nisa estate across the Lanarkshire area as the new Nisa Wishaw has officially opened its doors.
Located on Caledonian Road, the new convenience store has benefited from a full refit following on from the owner’s decision to change fascia over to Nisa.
Mani Anwar, owner of Nisa Wishaw, said: “Converting the store to Nisa marks an exciting new chapter for our business. We were looking for a wholesale partner and symbol that could help us strengthen our offer, and the combination of the Nisa brand, Co-op brand products and the support provided by the Co-op Wholesale team made it a compelling choice.
“The transition has gone smoothly, and we’re looking forward to building on the store’s existing success while delivering even greater value and choice for customers in Wishaw.”
Standing at 2,000 sqft, Nisa Wishaw now offers a wide selection of Co-op brand lines including everyday essentials, fresh food and other items under the Co-op brand to offer quality, value and convenience to locals.
Further to this, the store now boasts a Lavazza coffee machine, a Spud Kings food to go unit as well as a brand new Beer Cave format to provide shoppers with an array of chilled drinks.
To mark the opening of the new store, Co-op Wholesale’s charity Making a Difference Locally has also donated £500 to Thornlie Primary School in the local area to support its staff and pupils.
Fiona Shearer, regional development manager at Co-op Wholesale, said: “This is an excellent addition to our estate and a great opportunity for Mani and the team. The store occupies a strong location on Caledonian Road and has all the ingredients for success, combining a modern retail offer with the convenience local shoppers are looking for. We look forward to supporting the team as they establish and grow the business.”
