Seasonal promotion kicked off in Inverclyde
SPAR Scotland has helped locals in Inverclyde to get into the Christmas spirit this year with a Christmas party in Spar Greenock.
As part of the symbol’s Big Deals of Christmas promotion, which launched in Spar stores in October this year, a special Christmas party took place in Spar Greenock on 6 December.
The event had a face painter present, along with giveaways, product sampling and offered them the chance to walk away with vouchers for the CJ’s breakfast range. The first 25 consumers who visited the store after the party kicked off at 3pm all received £5 vouchers.
Spar has also pledged to match these voucher redemptions before the the end of the year in a donation to its national charity partner Marie Curie.
Local charity groups were also invited along to take part in the day including the end-of-life care organisation Ardgowan Hospice and animal charity The Underheugh Ark Rescue, both of which are close to the hearts of the team at Spar Greenock. Both charities were presented with a cheque for £500 on the day as well.
Leonna from the Ardgowan Hospice said: “We are incredibly grateful to Spar for hosting its Christmas Party in support of Ardgowan Hospice. Events like these not only bring moments of joy to the community, but also provide vital funds that enable us to continue delivering compassionate care to those who need it most.”
There was also a chance to win further prizes by playing Spar Scotland’s spinning wheel, sample food from local bakery chain Aulds as well as the CJ’s food-to-go range.
This year also marks Spar Greenock’s first Christmas, after the store changed over from the Eddy’s Food Station group after the firm went bust.
Paula Middleton, head of marketing at Spar Scotland, said: “We are delighted to have Greenock back in Spar and to celebrate its return by providing local shoppers with a Christmas party on 6 December.
“It is also a great opportunity to celebrate our Big Deals of Christmas campaign which is all about giving our shoppers great offers and delivering value in the run-up to Christmas.
“Working with some of the biggest market-leading brands ensures our stores have engaging promotions and tailored offers.
“We are also proud to support local communities. Supporting local charities at this time of year not only spreads joy to those in need, but it also strengthens the bonds we are making within our community.”
