KIDS fruit snacks brand BEAR has brought Tropical twist in its bestselling YoYos range.

Bringing a blend of mango, pineapple and passion fruit to the line-up, the new YoYos variant provides one of your five a day and is also high in fibre, making it an ideal choice for parents concerned about their children’s health.

Available on supermarket  shelves now, the new flavour also comes with a collectable BEAR card, similar to the rest of the variants, to help drive further interest for children.

The new flavour will also make its way to the convenience and wholesale channels from September.

Each box, with an RRP of £2.85, contains five 20g packs that are all individually wrapped and hold two YoYos fruit rolls.

Jo Agnew, marketing director at Urban Fresh Foods, said: “Our BEAR YoYos portfolio is our bestselling range, thanks to their moreish texture that kids love to peel apart, flavour punch and collectable cards.

“It’s no secret that kids can get bored easily, so launching new flavours gives parents lots of tasty options to choose from, expanding little taste buds and keeping them interested in fruit.

“A real taste of summer, tropical flavours are absolutely booming across other category sectors and, in our research, almost half of parents said they’re likely to purchase tropical flavour snacks.

“Given we’re the number one in kids fruit snacking, it was only right for BEAR to be the first brand to bring it to the category.”

HEALTHIER snacks should be front and centre for the back to school opportunity.

That’s the take from Dole Sunshine Company, which reckons its fruit cup range will make for the ideal addition to kids lunch boxes as they head back to the classroom for a new year.

In particular, this includes the Dole Kids Mixed Fruit in Jelly range, which is targeted specifically for school kids.

Both products – Orange Jelly with Mixed Fruit and Strawberry Jelly with Mixed Fruit – come with an RRP of £1.79 for a pack of four, offering consumers an attractive price point with ambient storage options and a long shelf life.

Both SKUs also contain real pieces of both pineapple as well as papaya, offering more exotic, on-trend fruit options.

Gareth Roberts, UK country sales manager at Dole Sunshine Company, said: “Healthy fruit snacks and healthier lunch box items in general should be front and centre when retailers are trying to make the most from the lunch box and back-to-school opportunity.

“At Dole, all our fruit snacks are non-HFSS – which, along with their convenient packaging, makes them perfect for the lunch box.”
