SNACKS giant Mondelēz International has urged retailers to get their final submissions in on time for the Cadbury The Great Retail Ideas Exchange before the competition closes.

Entries towards the Great Retail Ideas Exchange are set to close on 30 June giving retailers just short of two weeks to get their final suggestions in on time.

Cadbury’s The Great Retail Ideas Exchange invites retailers to share their ideas around retail success – no matter how big or small it may be – with other store owners. Any retailer who does share their ideas will automatically be entered into a competition to win a cash prize of up to £5,000.

To do so, retailers can fill out a specially-created form on Mondelēz’s trade website SnackDisplay.co.uk to be in with a chance of winning.

The total prize fund comes to a whopping £25,000 with the best idea put forward set to bag the grand prize of £5,000, while the next 10 best ideas will win £1,000 each. All other ideas will be entered into a final random prize draw which will see a further 20 prizes awarded worth £500.

The retailer-focused competition makes up part of Cadbury’s wider 200th anniversary celebrations, taking inspiration from the brand’s long heritage of working with the trade sector over the two centuries and helping businesses to share their great retailing ideas.

To help encourage retailers to submit their own ideas, Mondelēz has provided two examples from leading retailers from across the UK to provide their own thoughts, including Natalie Lightfoot, store owner of Londis Solo Convenience Baillieston in Glasgow.

She said: “Social media is so important to us. We’ve installed a Facebook counter where customers can scan a QR code and like our page, so we know that customer is someone who shops in our store and now they can see all of our products online.”
