Doritos, Walkers Max and Wotsits Crunchy newcomers heat up the big night in
CRISPS are the ideal savoury snack to share for the big night in, helping to make sure consumers keep picking away all night long.
Helping to bring some heat to the night in as well, PepsiCo has launched its Extra Flamin’ Hot flavour to the range.
Available across Doritos, Walkers Max and Wotsits Crunchy variants, the new Extra Flamin’ Hot takes advantage of the recent demand seen for spicier snacking foods, particularly among the Gen Z audience where the flavour dominates across TikTok.
Mike Chapman, head of wholesale at PepsiCo, said: “The three-strong range adds a deliciously intense twist to the nation’s much-loved favourites: Doritos, Walkers Max and Wotsits Crunchy.”
Not only do these packs come in the sharing format, making them ideal for the more social nights in, they are also available in smaller PMP packs, meaning consumers can have the best of both worlds with a treat for themselves for a more quiet one.
This will be especially important for the independent channel, according to Chapman, where the top PMP snacks are made up from the PepsiCo portfolio.
He said: “As shoppers seek accessible price points, PMPs will continue to come to the fore and we’re seeing this within our portfolio currently.
“The top 10 PMP snack SKUs include Doritos, Sensations, Quavers, Wotsits and Cheetos, which demonstrates just how important these SKUs are in driving growth.”
