We highlight new products that Scottish c-store retailers might want to stock
Buckfast canned RTD
POPULAR tonic wine brand Buckfast is capitalising on the massive consumer demand for canned RTDs with two newcomers.
The 250ml cans are available in either Original or pre-mixed Buckfast and Lemonade flavours.
The former has the same 15% ABV as the bottles, with an RRP of £4.59 per can, while the latter has a 5% ABV and an RRP of £2.29. Launching on 3 May, convenience retailers are able to buy the drinks in cases of 12.
Independent retailers can source the products from all the leading convenience channel wholesalers in Scotland.
In addition, Scotmid will be selling the cans in all of its stores and they will be available at all company-owned Spar Scotland sites.
2. The Delicious Dessert Company Caramelised Biscuit Yum Yums
THE Delicious Dessert Company has rolled out its new Caramelised Biscuit Yum Yums cakes across Tesco stores.
Coming in packs of two cakes, the new Yum Yums combine a rich caramel fondant with crunchy caramelised biscuit pieces, with this encased in a crispy pastry treat.
Marking the latest creation from the desserts brand, the new Yum Yums packs aim to build on the popular dessert here in the UK.
Claire Smith, head of insight at The Delicious Dessert Company, said: “Following a period of momentous growth and diversifying of our product range, we are delighted to be taking our caramelised biscuit Yum Yums into Tesco stores nationwide this month.”
3. Burts Spicy Barbecue potato chips
SNACKS firm Burts has rolled out a new flavour for its potato chips range with Spicy Barbecue.
Available in 40g and 150g pack formats, the new variant aims to take advantage of the emerging flavour trend, says Burts, ahead of the summer.
Claire Wade, head of Burts sales at Burts Chips, said: “The launch of our new Spicy Barbecue flavour coincides perfectly with the onset of summer, as the ideal snack to share among friends and family in the sun.
“We are passionate about continuously developing our product range, utilising our expertise to create a quality, limited-edition flavour with quality ingredients.”
4. Heineken limited-edition glassware offer
HEINEKEN UK is set to launch a limited-edtion range of glassware to drive support for this summer’s football tournaments.
There’s a glass each for the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Women’s Champions League and Investec Champions Cup.
This marks the first time that the beer brand has also dedicated a glass design to a women’s football tournament.
Each glass features the trophy from the respective tournament, making them true collector’s items for fans.
Limited-edition packs will also shout out about the new partnership and will be seen across single 650ml bottles as well as 330ml bottles. To get their hands on the limited-edition glassware, shoppers need only buy a select pack and choose one to take home.
