Scottish brand celebrates Mallow Bars listing
SCOTTISH health-conscious snack brand Bliss has announced its first supermarket listing for its new Crispy Mallow bars.
Available in Tesco stores nationwide and online, the new Crispy Mallow bars marks the first Bliss product range to fall under England’s HFSS-restrictions. At just 70 calories per bar, Lightbody Ventures – the firm behind Bliss – said the new bars are 30% lower in sugar when compared to similar competitor brands.
Neil Stewart, managing director at Lightbody Ventures, said: “Bliss bars have always been seen as a healthier alternative to chocolate and a guilt-free tasty indulgence by our customers.
“However, we wanted to do something a little different with Crispy Mallow, one that the whole family would enjoy.
“Challenging ourselves to create a product that was HFSS compliant, without compromising on taste or price-point became the proverbial unicorn in the room. It took a lot of work, but we’re thrilled with the results.
“Our Crispy Mallow and Crispy Chocolate Delight bars have received immense praise from our customers and securing that Tesco listing has been a long-standing ambition since we launched Bliss less than five years ago. We can’t wait to see where Bliss goes from here.”
To help commemorate the new launch, Lightbody Ventures took its Bliss brand to the streets of Glasgow with its unicorn mascot Chris P Mallow.
Visiting both Glasgow Central Station as well as Tesco Silverburn, Chris P handed out 13,000 product samples to consumers across the city to help to spread out joy and knowledge about the brand.
Stewart said: “We all absolutely love Chirs P and it was a delight to see them out and about in Glasgow’s Central Station and Silverburn shopping centre enchanting the public and making everyone smile.
“We already have some exciting plans underway for Bliss this year and I’m sure Chris P will be back and bringing his magic.”
