CJ Lang appoints new director for Spar Scotland stores

WHOLESALER CJ Lang & Son has appointed its new company-owned store director for its Spar Scotland symbol.

Frank McCarron has taken on the role with the Dundee company, bringing with him a plethora of industry knowledge from over 35 years experience. McCarron’s most recent role saw him as senior regional business manager with Scotmid.

Colin McLean, chief executive at CJ Lang & Son, said: “I am delighted Frank has joined us. We wanted someone to help take our company-owned store division to the next level and Frank has all the skills and experience to do that.”

This follows on from the wholesaler’s recent acquisition of the ScotFresh retail group, which saw nine new stores added to its estate.

On his appointment, McCarron said: “Joining CJ Lang as the company-owned stores director in January 2024 is an incredible honour.

“The recent acquisition of nine new stores from ScotFresh marks the next thrilling chapter in the company’s already impressive journey over recent years, and I’m eager to contribute to its continued success.”
